Your POA is pleased to roll out remind.com’s reminder service. It’s easy, secure, and isn’t costing the POA anything!
Here’s how it works. Using the information below, you can sign up any email address or mobile text number1 to receive messages from the POA. The name associated with the registered account shows up in a list of subscribers, however there is no access to subscribed email address or text numbers. In other words, you are not handing out your number or email to anyone. Privacy matters.
The POA will send out messages, of varying frequency, and every subscribed email or text number will receive them. Examples may include meeting time and location, picnic dates, project updates, or escaped donkey alerts.
One cool aspect of this is around PO opportunities. It’s one thing to stand up and volunteer for open-ended type“positions”, however it is easier to volunteer when it is not so nebulous. For example, we may ask for a volunteer to water newly planted trees on particular evenings.
Only the POA board will be able to send messages; as we do not want to flood our neighbors with messages, this seems appropriate. Please feel free to reach out to the POA!
To receive messages via text, text @pcppoa1 to (832) 981-5742. You can opt-out of messages at any time by replying, 'unsubscribe@pcppoa1'. Note on texts: you will be asked to reply with your full name. This completes the registration process and is a required step. There is no requirement to use your actual name.
Or to receive messages via email, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. To unsubscribe, reply with 'unsubscribe' in the subject line.
Note on email: you will receive an email asking you to click a link to complete the registration. Clicking this link is required. You will be brought to a page asking if you are a ‘teacher’, ‘parent’, or ‘student’. Your choice here does not impact which messages will be received. Yes, this tool was created to facilitate teacher/student/parent communication.
